The colour

That depth of colour is the point.

The deep purple is anthocyanin — the same family of antioxidants found in blackberries and blueberries. Queensland breeders spent years selecting for more of it. It is the reason this plum exists.

Provenance

Ten weeks on the tree. Yours the other forty-two.

01

Left to ripen

Density peaks late in the season, so the fruit stays on the tree until it does — then comes off in a single narrow window.

02

The colour survives

Anthocyanins are delicate. The whole fruit is handled gently, so what the plum grew is what reaches you.

03

Measured, not guessed

Every serve is measured, sealed and light-proof — powder or nectar. The last one is as considered as the first.

The things worth knowing first.

What is Queen Garnet plum?

+

Queen Garnet is a Japanese plum (Prunus salicina) bred in Queensland by the Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. It was selected over years for unusually high anthocyanin content — the deep purple pigment found in dark fruit — through conventional breeding. Not genetically modified; simply a great deal of patience.

What are anthocyanins?

+

Anthocyanins are the natural plant pigments behind the deep purple-red of blueberries, blackberries and Queen Garnet plums. They belong to the flavonoid group of polyphenols, and they are the compounds most often examined in the published Queen Garnet research.

How much does PurQ cost per serve?

+

A box of PurQ powder is $60 for 15 sachets — $4.00 a serve as a one-time purchase, or $3.20 a serve on a 15-day subscription. Queen Garnet Nectar is $60 for 10 × 250ml bottles; a bottle is a serve and a half, so the same $4.00 and $3.20 a serve apply.

Is PurQ made in Australia?

+

Yes. The plums are grown in Queensland, and every PurQ product is blended and packed in Australia. PurQ is owned by Nutrafruit, an Australian company.

When should I take PurQ?

+

Gut Care in the morning, Night Time Restore in the evening — one serve each. Stir a powder into 200ml of cold water, juice or a smoothie; Queen Garnet Nectar is ready to drink, chilled or over ice. There is no loading phase: one serve is the full serve.

Has Queen Garnet plum been studied?

+

Yes — more than ten peer-reviewed studies published between 2012 and 2021, conducted by Australian universities and research institutions. PurQ has funded none of them. Every paper is listed and linked on our research page, so you can read the methods and conclusions for yourself.

Does PurQ contain added sugar?

+

No. No added sugar, no fillers, no artificial flavours or sweeteners. Gut Care is Queen Garnet plum powder, three prebiotic fibres and a 5 billion CFU LactoSpore® Bacillus coagulans probiotic. Nothing further.

How does the PurQ subscription work?

+

Choose your formulas and how often they arrive, and the discount follows the frequency: 20% every 15 days, 15% every 30 days, and 10% at 45, 60 or 90 days. Shipping is free on orders over $96, and you may skip a delivery, move the date, swap a formula or cancel from your account at any time.
